beau boulot !
I made a great find today and bought a pair of rotors!
They are 324mm x 30mm. The C5 rotors are 325mm x 32mm.
The backspacing is almost perfect, just over 70mm. 68mm would have been perfect.
Stock rotor and the new one.
Backspacing.
A thin spacer is needed, about 2mm. The spacer can be between the knuckle and hub or between the hub and rotor.
On these pictures I have the same type of washers between the hub and rotor, one on each stud. That is how close it is.
And with the Wilwood superlite.
Some minor modifications has to be made to the rotor.
1) As you see in the first picture there is a small 'step' about half way down. That step has to be reduced with a lathe because the rotor became too tight for the hub. I did that to one rotor and it was easy to do.
2) The inner half of the rotor has to be removed near the center to clear the mounting bolts for the caliper. That is also easy to do with the same lathe.
A custom caliper bracket has to be made, and a 2mm spacer for the rotor.
And the best part! It is the stock rotor from a BMW , About $60 as a new spare part.

Yes! This rotor / caliper combination does clear the stock 16" wheel. (At least my 1986 wheels) It is not even close!
From Summit Racing:
WIL-120-7429-R Caliper $144.95
WIL-120-7429-L Caliper $144.95
WIL-15K-6829K Pads $91.95
About $500 total for C5 sized rotors and 4-piston calipers with pads that can be used with stock wheels.
